Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state early analysis show the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.
City officials said they were working "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the residents for tips.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
